Try to catch that opportunity and spread the message
When we propose anything to college staffs or management, the
first thing they want to know is how they will be benefitted..
If you say the benefit is KNOWLEDGE then that "education father"
will say, "Hah, we don't need that".
If you say the benefit is FREEDOM then that "education father" will
say, "Hah, we don't want to give that to stud/lect".
If you say the benefit is FREE then "education father" ask "Will you
provide free service for us to use FOSS :)
