If you don't want inotify there are several triggers possible. I have
done it with
kqueue() on FreeBSD long ago. I stopped using FreeBSD years ago.

You have libevent(3) in linux which can do the same thing I believe.

I think normally hotplugd is used when you plug in a USB camera to
automount
and react in this manner.

Thanks but I am trying to code using Gamin which give me fam.h routines.
Got some sample code and now coding. Will revert back after full design.

PS: I think, it is unique in terms to usability point of view. For me it
will be "Freedom Directory" , Put anything init, It will automatically
convert to open standard.
