"Freedom directory" ?-- We will assign one directory for this purpose. our
daemon will take care for pasting new flies into it. Whenever using put new
files (like 100+ jpg images from his camera), this will automatically
converted to png images in the backend. This will remove a lot of hurdle and
time consuming conversion process for a normal user. How is the idea ;) ??

If you don't want inotify there are several triggers possible. I have
done it with
kqueue() on FreeBSD long ago. I stopped using FreeBSD years ago.
You have libevent(3) in linux which can do the same thing I believe.
I think normally hotplugd is used when you plug in a USB camera to automount
and react in this manner.
