b. choose eth0 and click "edit"
c. check mark the 'Controlled by NetworkManager' option right below the
name of the connection.
d. exit out of system-config-network
e. right-click the NetworkManger applet (btw, if you are running kde make
sure it is the NetworkManager applet you have running in the panel, not
the kde whatsitcalled thingy for network control -- you can tell by right
clicking and verifying the 'About') and click 'Edit connections'
f. Add a new wired connection (the good thing about NM is you can have
multiple wired connections 'configurations' for the same device, and can
seamlessly switch between them -- just name them differently)
g. try it out and report back.
