Man, I am talking about ensuring the survival of the vendor too! (Even the

Is it that I don't know how to ask this question, or that you guys don't get
my question, or that there is no proper answer to it??
I rephrase my question here:-
Can I or can I not SELL (for a nonzero price), software (and not
support/service over that), to a customer, along with sourcecode (basically
opensource it), without fear that today's customer will turn tomorrow's
competitor by just repackaging my stuff for a lower price?
Don't send me URLs, don't talk about philosophy, don't tell me it is not
about the money. Just tell me, Yes, or No, and if Yes, give me the name of
that company. I want to work for it, or better, emulate it (or even better,
outsell her to extinction).

This GPL license is there precisely to protect this kind of action. You
make a software and sell it to a customer at a big price. Later when the
customer faces problems and approaches you - and you say you just dumped the
project and wont support it anymore.
GPL is there to see that the customer isnt at the mercy of software
creator.
The other thing is that there is no "software SO GOOD that it doesn't need
support at all".
