I have been eyeing gentoo for a while.  I will try
it when I get the
time and chance.  The point is, I thought you'd like
to share your
opinion on why you said it was fast with some real
numbers.  Many
reviews claim the same overall "feel" that the
system is faster but no
one seems to provide hard numbers.


  I have not used debian extensively. So I have no
comments. The point is gentoo is faster than
slackware, so do than debian.
