Since 'dselect' is hard to use, I used to select only
'tasksel'. But there also it prompts lot of questions
for packages which I was not selected.
next time I'' try debconf from dselect.
Any easy way to use 'dselect'?

Usually some package or the other depends on
debconf (the x server,
for example). so if you either used dselect or
tasksel during the
first time boot and chose one such package you
will be asked these
questions. Alternatively, you can simply
select debconf for
installation from dselect.
