hi,
i installed the debian sarge 3.1 now and i found that it took only cd1
for the installation and everything went on fine. And i got KDE
showing up without any hassles
But without my knowledge i switched off the power button of UPS, hence
system was switched off. I booted the system and saw that there was
some problem in starting KDE, (it is not starting, and dint give any
error , when i started in normal mode) so i started it in the
'recovery mode' and i got the shell as root. Now i gave "startkde" in
the prompt and i get the following....

startkde: starting up
ksplash: cannot connect to X Server

Error: can't contact KDE init!
