Try to give DNS as online IPs (Should be starting from 202 series ) and not
your local Gateway IP( I think 192.168.1.1 is your local Gateway IP).
Then restart Your Network Interfaces : /etc/init.d networking restart
If still it not working, Check your NIC Cable is connected with your switch
properly.
then, Ping your Gateway IP.
Check your NIC links are up by typing ip link show
Check you IP address by typing ifoncifg

i did the same with windows too ,it didnt set the ip at all,all the fields
blank.and when i set the fields myself no change was reflected.could it be
some hardware problem ?
