[Ilugc] 2 day FOSS workshop for faculty in the Kongu region

Hi,
I think its better to give a lecture on how to compile c/c++ and java
program in Linux, How to use software design tools like umbrello, how
to use software development tools like kdevelop, quanta plus,
bluefish, etc. Your talk may attract them if its more syllabus
oriented.
IMO,
Good idea indeed,Will it not be still good where we teach open source
as open source which has no boundaries,fixing the lecturers to the
curriculum oriented syllabus where each lecturer may feel like landing
in a typical computer training center. I am not in offence with the
training industry here.
As a lecturer , one needs to be well informed and par excel by
knowing the market trends than his/her student.Event like these help
the college people to interact with the domain experts who address
the attendees, I feel these kind of interaction will give fantastic
understanding about the subject for the lecturing world.
instead of fixing to college syllabus, if we have open source
software lectures in the ilugc pattern sessions, it will have good
impact. I too agree that if we can give lecturers with advanced
concepts which may be related with their evolving syllabus will be
useful to them.
