I just read my own post and was
pretty disgusted with my grammar. Please let me know if there was any
part of it that was too bad to understand.

Not sure I can help much but can’t
you add the pad as a mechanical feature. It sounds like it would the a
surface only pad that is not connected
to pwr/gnd or anything.
One warning though, because these are
not part of the footprint, they will not move with the rest of
the
pads if the footprint has to be moved
for any reason.

Pad?
I am all alone in the office and in need of some
assistance...
How do you go about adding a free pad (or
four)?
This is for an Allegro 15.5 layout. I wish to place
a bump pad at
each corner of my BGA devices without modifying the
part footprint.
Seems like such an easy thing to do but I am
stumped :-(
Tried doing a sub-drawing from a reference design
but that process
is not cooperating. What is the
trick?
Thanks in advance for your
help!
