[PCB_FORUM] Re: How To add Bump Pad?

Bob,

Is this a surface mount pad?  I am not exactly sure what bump pad is, but if it is a surface mount pad would it be ok to just have a etch shape for that area?  Maybe solder resist film mask with appropriate long with it? (Matching your pad setup)  I am not sure if this is what you are looking for.  I hope it helps.

Subject:  [PCB_FORUM] How To add Bump Pad?

I am all alone in the office and in need of some assistance...

How do you go about adding a free pad (or four)?

This is for an Allegro 15.5 layout. I wish to place a bump pad at

each corner of my BGA devices without modifying the part footprint.

Seems like such an easy thing to do but I am stumped :-(

Tried doing a sub-drawing from a reference design but that process

is not cooperating. What is the trick?

Thanks in advance for your help!
