I think it would be nice if the quick recording settings could be adjusted, a super low quality with the agc is almost useless. I was pleasantly surprised when I attached the icon to a computer at work leaving the icon cd at home, and the icon showed up as a diskdrive when in diskdrive mode, that's a huge plus. I know the usb controler is probably on the processor, but it seems to only transfer at 880k/second. 12 files 182968521 bytes in 208.03 seconds so it would take 19 minutes to transfer 1gb. I have yet to try the wireless. If anyone already has samba running, it would be interesting to see a similar benchmark test. I was happy to see i could just copy books and they showed up on the bookshelf, now we just need a way to show the icon what the title and authors are, maybe first line = title, and second line equals author? I noticed that the 5 key told current time position in an mp3 file, that's cool, maybe the other numbers could tell other things, like total length of file, bit rate, id3 tag info. I like that the icon can charge from the usb port, even if slow it means if you have access to a computer you don't always need to have the AC adaptor along. I wish it just had a mini-b plug on the icon though like the pocket pcs but I did sigh in relief when I saw the docking cable was extra thick and made with high quality parts, so we shouldn't hear about them breaking easily, like some others I've seen. After all that ranting, I really do like the device, I'm already trying to get other people interested in getting one, my intent isn't to complain, just trying to bring up things about the device that hopefully can be improved. I still have a question, sorry to say; I don't know how to log in to the console. The manual didn't seem to say anything about the console except that it exists. One reason why I got the icon was to see how much I could have it replace my laptop. It can't completely, but I think it can go a long way. My job is in network security, so running linux I hope to make it into a great portable network analyzing machine, I think it's possible. If only the docking cable had ethernet, the docking station wont be convenient to carry around on the run. With hopefully more blind people getting into networking, I seriously feel the icon could give them a huge advantage. Now if we could just get more requests for a serial port in the docking station and the ability of the icon to be an external synth. Together we can help make the icon the most powerful but also the most flexible PDA the blind have ever seen. Kevin
