Thanks for all the comments and suggestions on the next steps. Turning Bob's recent comments into a more immediate and practical question, I would like to make a few decisions on how this second pass of the AMI BIRD would be carried out. In specific, we need to decide who will do the editorial work and be the owner of the of the document. This could be a single person or a small team consisting of a few people. The responsibility of this team or person would be to go through the entire document, make the editorial changes and present those changes to the ATM subcommittee. I would favor to make this decision in our next meeting tomorrow, because I am concerned that if we start addressing the BIRD amendments as Walter suggested it, we would lose track of what we have done so far in the first pass of the BIRD. Also, some of the amendments may have dependencies in the main BIRD document, so it may be a good idea to finalize that in order to avoid the following a moving target syndrome. We are making progress in addressing some top-level concerns. I want to address Walter's last statement: "... and determine what are next steps are to be able to have this committee submit a draft of the AMI BIRD to the Open Forum for discussion." We need to do the editorial restructuring of Section 6C to move forward, both for now and for any future inclusions. Without getting into full details, we need these actions: Outline the Chapter Sections and move related content into sections Do a Terminology review and update the terminology Then do final technical review. For example, the .ami syntax is now split apart into two areas. It should all be under an .AMI syntax subsection and its subsections to clearly present the syntax rules. The terminology needs to be considered and stabilized. AMI-Keyword for .ami might be defined to have it different than Keyword for IBIS models (including in Section 6C(. Then "Allowed-Values" becomes "Allowed-Keywords." This restructing might could be done off-line by a separate editing team or by some other process to get to a new baseline. Then we can do a final technical review where all the factors for a rule and their impact are fully considered. Then we reach the final goal for the IBIS Open Forum consideration: A complete, clear and technically robust BIRD that describes what was intended.
