So you mean the planet's phaser on the planet killer map? I haven't thought
about it like that. I would think you would want that phaser to reach as far as
it could.

The phasers should all have a range of 6 tiles. Otherwise it would be seriously
hard. I was able to beat the planet killer with just the two ships, once I got
the science vessel out of there. I would lure the shuttles just close enough
so that it would move towards them. Taht would give my main guys a round to
recharge photons, then I come in, blast that planet eating critter and dash out
of range again, since it's range is zero.

The planet killer moves 3 spaces I think. Mostly it was all a balanceing act
with the impulse speeds.

My starship map is meandering along. I might update it so you can play the borg
level and give me input, but alot of the maps are not finished, and are in a
state of flux...

Well firstly I think base phaser should have a range of 1-3 units as
the killer will attack at position 0.
I think if I could get all my ships in 1 place or 2 places like in
the borg I could gang up and pound the borg ofcause dreadnaughts and
standard cruisers are totally different things.
Still my plan was to get to the planet and pound there though to be
fact having I think 3 ships able to fire 2 torps 1 then repower on
emergency if i could get to a postion and enguage maybe pump 600
units of power into the killer then handle something else well.
On the borg mission yeah the borg are to easy to kill.
I was able to launch all my shuttles and only use barely 1-2 ships to kill it.
The borg would only attack 1 ship at a time though.
on the killer map though the killer is large.
It wouldn't have any reason to move at speed, and since its attack
range is 0 its really not going to move that fast.
