It may have been that I just forgot to put a target directory, because
i just typed it in again and it's working ok today. the only
difference I can see is that I now had allegro-4.3.10plus as a target
folder:
svn co
https://alleg.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/alleg/allegro/branches/4.3.10plus
allegro-4.3.10plus
