Sure, Bethon is there, but its last release was about 4 years ago.
Why not update haiku version of python and improve Bethon?
Lack of active developers who are capable of updating it.

There is plenty of work going into a new port of Python for Haiku...
countless emails from scottmc and others requesting code reviews and
other help.

To be more precise, the last time any BeOS developer showed any real
interest in an improvement to Bethon, was about 4 years ago. From what
I can tell, BeOS is not exactly thriving. I expect a lot more interest
when Haiku comes out, but Haiku has not yet come out.
Hi Donn,
just so you know, i'm very interested in having python bindings for haiku and believe there definitely is a public, i have no particular needs, but i like the language (and Haiku obviously). I remember playing a bit with Bethon on haiku two years ago, you did some great work on Bethon :), i'm happy you're still around and hope you're still interested in it.

What are your thought's on the state and future of Bethon on Haiku? Do you think the binding needs to be rewritten or get a fresh start in some way? Looked at gcc-xml and Py++ seems powerfull...

Best regards,
Alex

PS: might be a nice GSoC project btw
