We are considering not giving a waiver either...but this link on the DOE is not helping our case: http://www.gadoe.org/External-Affairs-and-Policy/AskDOE/Pages/New-Student-Requirements.aspx From: gsis_admins-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:gsis_admins-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Carolyn Oliver Sent: Monday, March 10, 2014 12:04 PM To: gsis_admins@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [gsis_admins] Re: Immunization Form 3231 The state board rule says that we have to give 30 days for proof of age, proof of residence, and other local requirement. Immunization and EED are state law, not local requirement. The state law on immunization (attached) says that a district MAY grant a waiver for a justified reason. The is no provision in the state law to give a waiver on EED. With 33 schools, we are granting numerous waivers and this is creating a burden in follow up. That is why we are considering changing. From what I understand the enrollment board roll states we don't have a choice. We have to enroll them. We are considering changing that practice and require Form 3231 unless parent is enrolling from out of state. What does your district require for in-state and out-of-state enrollees?
