Hi Ron, It may not be automatically loading the iwl3945 kernel module (the specific wifi driver for the ipw3945 chipset). You can test this by opening two terminals - in one terminal, run `sudo dmesg' - this is a logging tool that outputs kernel and hardware driver messages In the second terminal run `sudo modprobe iwl3945' Then run dmesg again in the first terminal and check that there are messages about the wifi interface being configured. This should reenable the wifi interface - if it doesn't, hit the Fn + F5 again to disable the hardware kill switch, and run dmesg again. To set the module up to load automatically at boot, run: `sudo echo iwl3945 >> /etc/modules' Regards, Bernie -------------------- << Griffith Linux Users Group >> Meets: last Sunday of every month Next Meeting: 31st August 2008, 2-5pm, Where: 2MIA studios,Groongal Ave Griffith, corner of Jubilee Park Website: //www.freelists.org/webpage/griffith-lug
