I ran dcgpofix and all is working now! Thanks, Darren and Thorbjörn for your help. Empty isn?t good. That would explain the missing file message. I presume you are viewing this on the PDC emulator DC? If not, try seeing if that?s any different. If you already are on that server, then use dcgpofix to repair it. I do see the folder: {31B2........ but the folders below (Machine and User are empty. I am not concerned about loosing policies, the few I had can be recreated. I?m a little surprised that its actually gone! If you go into AD U&C, and open up the System\Policies container, do you see a GUID-named folder that starts with {31B2 ? Assuming the answer to the previous question is no, then I would try running dcgpofix.exe, which is available on Win2k3 server, to restore that GPO. Recently while trying to set password policy, I found I have no Default Domain Policy. When I run Group Policy Management It says: "No settings defined." for both computer and user configuration. When I click on "Default Domain Policy" under "Group Policy Objects", The dialog box says: "The system cannot find the file specified." I have a GP object created to set the proxy server for users that is working and is configurable. How do get the Default Domain Policy back? I have 3 Windows Server 2003 and 1 2000 domain controllers. The 2k DC will soon be retired. Richard Grinnell Placer Hills School District
