One of the problems with the maps used by Sendero and other GPS systems is that
quite often they work on administrative boundaries and often use the
administrative names for places. For example I searched long and hard to find
Chippenham in Wiltshire. It turned out to be listed under the local government
administrative area of North Wiltshire. You need to know quite a lot about the
area to discover this kind of thing.
I searched for The Strand and eventually found it under London, England but it
does not have the 'The' in its name. So when the street name is requested just
type in strand. It should offer you four matching streets. These are all parts
of the strand but under the different postcodes it passes through.
Personally I just use the braille when travelling. My hearing is not good
enough to cope with all the normal noise plus GPS. Luckily I am a seasoned
braille reader and can manage to read with either hand or both.

thanks for that, i still have not found Chestnut close, but will not worry as
I know where that is!
I believe I am still having battery issues, it was returned as I was only
getting 8 hours standby/usage, since they changed both batteries, I do not
think it is really any better, but having had Christmas etc, I have yet to sit
down and run some tests, if it has to go back again, I will be very frustrated
but these things happen! they did not perform a full test as they wanted to get
it back to me before Christmas but with hindsight, I wish they had hung onto it
for an extra few days! these things are sent to try us! I will at least have it
for a central london trip on friday, so I guess it is not all bad.
I have now found the command summary and will be digesting it over the next
while, a little light night reading I am sure!
So the bluetooth dongle fits into the ear piece jack? or is it the usb? I
already have a usb one which I used to use for my old laptop so knowing my luck
I will need something different! LOL
Your help is so much appreciated, I am quite competant with my PC and MAc but
the PK is a whole new ball game

Tony,
A lot of the difficulties that you are seeing with Address Lookups has
to do with the way the map suppliers, Tele Atlas decides to draw the
city lines. There may be certain streets that are considered in the
city and other streets that may be classified as in the "area" of
that city. An example would be Stockton versus Stockton Area, which is
out here in California, USA.
I was able to find Chesnut Clove, Edenbridge by doing the following:
SPACE with S for Address Lookup
ENTER Region: Southern England
Emter City: Edenbridge
ENTER Address Number: ENTER
ENTER Street Name: Chestnut
For some reason entering "Chestnut Clove" returns with "no streets
found matching that name."
If there are any other streets or Address Lookups like this, please
feel free to see if we could find them here.
Wow! It sounds like you have a lot to handle there.
Actually, there is a CommandSummary among other documentation, which
can be found in the Information Center. To access this, do the
following:
SPACE with H for the GPS Help Menu
I for the Information Center
Then SPACE through and press ENTER on the item of choice.

That is unfortunate to hear that there was an issue with the battery,
but good to know that you are up and running again.
It isnt' possible to use a Bluetooth ear piece directly with the PK.
However, it is possible when using a Bluetooth dongle. This is
something that will plug into the 3.5 mm jack on the PK, which will
allow for the dongle to be pairedd with an ear piece that will allow
for you to hear the information from the PK in the Bluetooth ear
piece.
I am not sure of where they could be obtained in England, but I found
them at Radio Shack here in the States.
I would recommend the Audio Tutorial, which also can be found at
www.MySendero.com which gives a really good desmontration/guide of
the GPS and is generalizeable to any situation.
