How can you say "But Newton's laws of motion show us..." and then go on
to completely ignore them by claiming that there is some sort of drag in
a vacuum?

Thankyou Mike, that is what I was trying to say. The world with its
atmosphere is like the train, but there is nothing without to disturb it
such as was the case of Nevilles analogy of all the walls disappearing.
