I live on a laptop, and have been for many years now. I don't think I 
could go back to a desktop. But I did find an interesting little episode 
involving Dell laptops. The story is rather long, and if you don't want 
to read it all, you can skip to the conclusions at the end, but the 
moral of his story is that if you want cheap, they will accommodate you, 
but beware: you get what you pay for. Get the "business" model if you 
want reliability. I have had similar experience when a company "buyer" 
bought Compaqs that were really designed for home use, and were 
virtually useless in a business environment.
By the way, I have used nothing but ThinkPads for several years now, 
just in case you were wondering :-)   The cost more, but I subscribe to 
the same philosophy as the guy did in his conclusion.  Oh yeah. I guess
