I don't know if you should start with AI yet, since all you probably
need for now is simple, pre-determined game logic (like, "if hungry,
search for food"). If you really wanna learn about AI, I can recommend
this book which helped me learning about the subject:
Artificial Intelligence and Soft Computing - Behavioral and Cognitive
Modeling of the Human Brain - by Amit Konar (ISBN: 0-8493-1385)
