   I was reading the article below and got to thinking about it.

   VL is based on slackware so what is stopping me from compiling an SMP
kernel on VL? Hmmm..... I'm thinking I'll have the turbine longer then I
thought!

   I'm gonna play with this idea and get back to ya.

   In the meantime the IBM seems happy on Debian (even though everything isn't
working) so i'm gonna leave it alone.
