Are you using an exchange server? The server can't handle the .$m in the sendmail.cf. Try commenting out the .$m It worked for us. We have an older Solaris version, but it maybe you can try it anyway... Good luck. Dirk PS I'm sure you know all this, but just in case: this site has usefull info on telnet - mail commands http://www.yuki-onna.co.uk/email/smtp.html -----Original Message----- From: foxboro-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:foxboro-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Lowell, Tim: Sent: woensdag 12 april 2006 16:26 To: foxboro@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [foxboro] sendmail for Solaris 8 We recently upgraded to Sun P91 boxes with Solaris 8 on them, and sendmail no longer works. I went back and read through a thread of messages on this issue in the archives, but I'm not having any success. Could someone who has gotten this to work please send me a copy of your sendmail.cf file off-list (with all identifying information stripped out, of course) so I can see what I'm doing wrong? I added the hostname with the dot at the end to /etc/hosts, I can ping the mail relay host, and everything else looks OK, but I just think I'm missing something in sendmail.cf. At the moment, when I send mail, the message doesn't go through and I get no reply back as to why it was refused. =20 Tim Lowell Control Systems Engineer ConocoPhillips Trainer Refinery (610) 364-8362 tim.c.lowell@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx =20 =20 =20 _______________________________________________________________________ This mailing list is neither sponsored nor endorsed by Invensys Process Systems (formerly The Foxboro Company).
