Joen,

A few questions:

- has this ever worked?
- If yes, was this made working through patching the wp_dta file?

In the "/usr/fox/sp/wp_dta" file all peripherals concerning the WP's and
AW's are configured.
If you did not configure them correct in the Systen definition, it will not
work unless you set his correct (with bpatch) manually in the wp_dta file.

Of course the "patch option" is not reccommended because this file gets
overwritten by every commit disk that you load in the system.

Some diagnostics:
If the keyboards do show in system management, you may have them configured
correctly in SysDef.
If they do show but are "red" than they are not "seen" by System Management,
you may have a configuration mismatch. In this case, try to "match" the
dipswitches on the back of the panels with the number shown in the Sytem
Management display (beware that one switch is not used).
The annunciator should sound the horn AND light up all led's during the last
fase of the reboot process. This indicates a proper configuration.
If the manual lamp test is OK but it fails to do the sounding of the horn
and led test during bootup, you most likely have a configuration problem.
Check if you still have a GCIO configured in SysDef for the WP's. I
understand these can get "lost" after you upgrade to a later version
software.

Hope this helps you some.

Subject: [foxboro] WP problems - persisting

hallo, guys
pls. help me out on the following problem:
system: 2 WP (old), and 1 AP (new, Z-series), I/A Series ver 6.1.1
one of the WPs is suffering from:
    * annunciator keyboard being not functioning, no LED nor horn
    * annunciator keyboard cannot associate with displays
    * cannot start VT100 session
reboot station is normal, with similar result
cabling check OK
putting the annunciator keyboard into the other WP, and functioning OK
my guess is that it needs AP reboot; am i correct?
thank you in advance for all suggestions
cheers
