I guess you can get that message with some sequence blocks,while others
may work.
Found this in our knowledge base. It is old but may shed some light.
This problem Sequence Editor exiting with message:=20
VT100 Interface Error=20
(109), code 256 has been reported in the past.=20
Response: When the vi editor is used on AP/AW51's for editing Sequence
Logic with the CioCfg package, the vi editor may return to the CioCfg=20
package an error when certain keystrokes are entered.=20
/ This is not the case on AW/APs on VENIX platforms.=20
/ I tested several vi commands to get a handle on which ones would cause
vi to exit with an error, they are as follows:=20
/ :e=20
/ :q (after performing an insert of text)=20
/ :n (there is no next file)=20
/ :s=20
/ :ta

Alex, when I made that change to remote_edit and tried to edit some seq
code in ICC, I got the error
"Sequence Editor VT100 Inteface error (109), code 256. Failed"
Am I missing something?

That does read like something that I wrote. :)
I believe it is still correct. I can add that the change for V7.x is
simple.=3D3D20
Change this line in /opt/fox/ciocfg/remote_edit
=3D3D09EDITOR=3D3D3D/usr/openwin/bin/textedit
to
=3D3D09EDITOR=3D3D3D/usr/bin/vi
