Can someone explain to me what a Delete/Undelete actually does? TIA Sincerely, Diane B. Harris Harris Automation Services, Inc P.O. And as far as I can remember, before I did this delete/undelete I created new blocks with a new name and for TYPE I specified the block that was actively running but was not in the CSA. I seem to think that this gave us the blocks back but with a new name. Now it was just a delete/undelete of the compound and creating the blocks with the original names and for TYPE specifying the temporary blocks who were created before the delete/undelete. Does this gobbledygook make any sense here? Cheers, Frits. -----Original Message----- From: Marchal, Andre L. Instead of initializing the whole CP, I did a delete and undelete on the compounds (the compounds names were the same as at the time of the last back up). Of course, all changes made were lost, but I did not have to shut down the whole plant to correct the problem. The blocks were n= ot running in the CP but did show up in the ICC. =20 I was able to delete them from the ICC and all was well. =20 The worst problem was that I had added a few new compounds to another= =20CP. The compounds and their blocks were running in the CP but did not show up= =20in the ICC. =20 I had to initialize the CP (wipe the memory clean) and perform a "loa= dall" from a saveall disk. =20 This meant that the CP had to be off line for about 5 minutes total. Other wise the CP and the running blocks worked just fine. I ran this wa= y for three days until I had the opportunity to take the CP offline. We can not delete them, because they are running OK, but need to back up properly because we feel they will be lost if we reboot the CP. Any ideas?
