Hi Tom,
I have a signal x which is Analog. I would like to use x in the logic &
generate output if x changes more than +- 0.3. If x changes less than that,
there shud not be any action.
So there is a need of deadband for one signal & not like deviation between
two signals.
Can u suggest ?

Rakesh,
The REALM block has a setpoint and High and Low deviation alarms
that are much like deviation alarms on PID blocks.. I have used the REALM
for generating alarms on a noisy signal before by using a setpoint and
generating high or low alarms based on the MEAS deviation from setpoint.
Very simple.

Subject: [foxboro] Achieving deadband functionality in IACC

Hi,
I have a signal which keeps on changing continuously. I want to
incorporate a deadband functionality. If the signal changes more than
certain value, then only i would take further action. Any inbuilt block for
this or any other method to do this ?
Rgds,
Rakesh
