I agree! It would be great to have this information available for folks who
maybe don't need it right now but might need it in the future.
One note about the care managers: the person at Springwell is not available
nights and weekends...the managers who are usually charge a lot more. I did
find an amazing one in NY for a family member there, who was available 24/7 and
charged less than $100 an hour but I think that's incredibly rare.
Thanks for this discussion!

information on HouseWorks (thank you), you should know that we’ve used them for
years and are switching.  This is not a complaint.  They were perfectly
adequate when my mother’s service needs were simple and basic, and very
responsive to last minute emergency requests.  Her current care needs exceed
their capabilities in terms of aide qualifications, training, and daily
supervision/oversight. Nina From: fandf100-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Subject: [fandf100] message from Nina R. - request for your advice Hi, Families
& Friends – I’ll need to get extensive home care services in place for my
mother’s return home from the hospital, and would appreciate your advice.  At
this point I’m only interested in agency services as I need them to provide
coordination, 24/7 emergency back-up, and oversight.   The following agencies
have been recommended to me.   I’d appreciate hearing if you’ve used any of
them and what your experience has been.  ·        Excellus Home Care·
Ezra Home Care·        Seniors Helping Seniors·        Geriatric Resource
Center·        Keystone Homecare·        Home Staff (used by the VNA)·
VNA Community Health in Arlington Also, if you have another agency to recommend
that’s not on this list, please do. Please reply directly to me so we don’t
barrage everyone with a slew of unwanted emails. Thanks so much. Nina
