It would be more accurate to say that the problem "disappeared by itself"
though that does not leave me any happier! Here is what I tried prior to
the problem "fixing itself" and any one or all may have been a factor:
In Exchange System Manager, under Recipients / Recipient Polices I
edited the user and group policies that I have for that domain and added a
new SMTP address under "E-Mail Addresses" and also edited my related
policies for that domain name to add the alias domain name as well
("Advanced")
