Hi ketan,

The best way to support all ur roaming users mails for ur mail server
without the authentication is to create the custom reciepients by the name
of those users e.g roamingusers@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
<mailto:roamingusers@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> . Then under the properties
of that custom reciepient u can assign the proxy address of
roaminguser@xxxxxxxxxxxx <mailto:roaminguser@xxxxxxxxxxxx> . For custom
recipients u dont need to create the mailbox and user account on LAN. SO u
dont require any authentication setting for custom recipients. I guess this
may help u.

Hi Sudhir,

Thanks for the reply.

My requirement is to have the anti spam mechanism on Exchange 5.5 server
which is acting as an outgoing SMTP server for all roaming users.

Present scenario is, it requires authentication to relay mails using the
server. I'd require it to be used without the authentication settings and at
the same time I'd require only the users belong to mydomain.com should be
able to send mails using the SMTP server.

I could find out the security based on the IP address on the IMC of Exchange
5.5 server.

Can the security be configured based on the domain name????

HI ketan..

can u please elaborate this more.

I guess u r talking about configuring the custom recipients and forwarding
the mails to the proxy SMTP address as per ur client address.

Hi,

I'm using my Exchange 5.5 server as an SMTP server for roaming users at my
organization.

Roaming users uses outlook pop client to retrieve mails from Exchange server
and uses Exchange 5.5 server configured with IMC to send mails to users
across organization as well as to the recipients on Internet.

Can anybody tell me how can I configure my Exchange 5.5 server or IMC on the
server so that I can have this server to relay mails having originator
information with user@xxxxxxxxxxxx <mailto:user@xxxxxxxxxxxx> only and no
other domains can relay mails using this server???

I'm also using Mailsweeper for SMTP 4.2_5 and McAfee Webshield for SMTP
4.5MR1a behind that.

Can I use these boxes to achieve what is required????

Please help.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
