If you check your SMTP settings and they seem to be ok. Try to investigate your 
DNS settings. One method of doing this is to do an nslookup. Then invoke a mail 
exchanger query.
From any win2k workstation or server on the network, go to command prompt and 
type nslookup.
Enter and type set q=mx
Enter then type any internet domain name e.g., etc
Press enter and see if it replies the query with the Mx record of the domain.
If it doesn't and keeps timing out then u need to check your DNS settings.
By the way, what is the event id for the NDR report?
