Hi Jim Just curious as I haven't come across this one. What would happen if you ran Exchange tasks in AD Users and Groups. do you get option to assign Exchange attributes to the user? If not could you delete his mailbox from the same place then run the cleanup option in the Exchange system Manager and if it appears reconnect it to the relevant network account? The second option would create a GAL entry. Just a thought more than anything else really. Don't know if it helps at all? But he was not in the GAL or nor was his display name visible in the Exchange Manager but there was an account with no Display Name. We sent mail from this account after we connected to it and it gave no from address so we archived the mail and recreated the account and it was okay again in the GAL. Hope it helps Jim -----Original Message----- From: Mark Sudron [mailto:marks@xxxxxxxxxx] Sent: viernes, 01 de agosto de 2003 22:40 To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] exchange email for existing users http://www.MSExchange.org/ hi, we've been running a win 2k server which now runs exchange 2000. all seems fine but when i look at exisitng user in active directory, there is no email page and they don't exist in the gal. do i have to recreate the users from scratch (or is there a less drastic solution)? thanks mark sudron ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=exchangelist Exchange Newsletters: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/newsletter.asp Exchange FAQ: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ ------------------------------------------------------ Other Internet Software Marketing Sites: Leading Network Software Directory: http://www.serverfiles.com No.1 ISA Server Resource Site: http://www.isaserver.org Windows Security Resource Site: http://www.windowsecurity.com/ Network Security Library: http://www.secinf.net/ Windows 2000/NT Fax Solutions: http://www.ntfaxfaq.com ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this MSExchange.org Discussion List as: jim.origel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub') ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=exchangelist Exchange Newsletters: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/newsletter.asp Exchange FAQ: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ ------------------------------------------------------ Other Internet Software Marketing Sites: Leading Network Software Directory: http://www.serverfiles.com No.1 ISA Server Resource Site: http://www.isaserver.org Windows Security Resource Site: http://www.windowsecurity.com/ Network Security Library: http://www.secinf.net/ Windows 2000/NT Fax Solutions: http://www.ntfaxfaq.com ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this MSExchange.org Discussion List as: paul_lemonidis@xxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub')
