Guys, Any one considered his solution - Enable Circular Logging. Exchange will reuse the old logs. Delete everything prior to one week and enable circular logs! If so these can fill a drive fairly quickly. You really only need these for error tracking & analysis. system manager - server - properties check that enable tracking logging etc is how it should be, and log file maintenance is set to a short time frame if you need to track Also Check all protocol logging ... smtp http etc... Are these files recent? regards Peter ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dolly Bareqet" <dolly@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "[ExchangeList]" <exchangelist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, October 15, 2002 3:29 PM Subject: [exchangelist] RE: exchange ate up my hard drive http://www.MSExchange.org/ The exchange log files are always 5 MB and they supposed to be with the *.log. It is strange that they are with *.txt. All of the replies you've got are the base of creating Exchange server. If your tape is broken in the mean time you can backup your exchange to folder on another machine. I don't backup my Exchange to tape at all, I'm backing up to another machine daily and keep 2 last backups available.
