log files have a .LOG extension.
Try to separate database and log files onto diferent drives, this is very
important for disaster recovery.
Separate database and system files, better to leave LOG files on the system
drive.
NOTE that we are talking physical drive NOT logical.
As with all exchange servers the operating system on drive 0, LOGs on drive
0 or 1 (preffered), then storage groups on next drive 1 or 2, and if large
add more storage goups to additional drives, this way you can add more
drives as the need arrises, and move storage groups or create more storage
groups on them.
Keep the log file dataspace small by proper backups.
Before you can move a storage group to a different location(system manager,
properties of storeage group), the folder must exist.
regards
Peter
