It's not a clean way but you can try in user and computers--> exchange general options -->delibery restrictions--> delivery message size and fix it to a maximum of 1Kb. I don't know which is the effect of 0Kb but you can try also. Other way could be (this is what we use) user and computers--> exchange general options --> storage limits --> uncheck standard value for mailbox storage and check only the "Forbid send when reach" and try with 1KB. It is not a clean fix because anyone who tries to send from this account it is going to receive a error email, but it can be usefull for you. --Sierr@-- ________________________________ De: Tom Kern [mailto:tpkern@xxxxxxxxx] Enviado el: martes, 24 de enero de 2006 15:12 Para: [ExchangeList] Asunto: [exchangelist] RE: blocking recieving mail http://www.MSExchange.org/ The account is just used to send messages from. It is a mail enabled user account. Its for compliance reasons. management wants certain people to be ables to send as that account but they don't want the account to recieve any internal or external emails. Perhaps just an NDR if they do or some custom response. Unfortuantely, the email addy being used is the public dns namespace one so i don't know how to block external people from responding to this account without changing the addy to something like account@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Also, I don't want ANY user to have the ability to send to that account internally as well. Any help would be great. Thanks alot On 1/23/06, Deni Jakovljevic <Deni.Jakovljevic@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: http://www.MSExchange.org/ When you say service account, do you mean you have a resource user/mailbox which you have then given your users access to send on its behalf? Eg. ParkingSpot@xxxxxxxxxxx ? If yes, setup a mail delivery restriction limiting who can email the service account through dsa.msc (I'm assuming the service account has a mailbox associated with it?) If auditing isn't an issue you could also use an external vbscript to relay emails off your mail server. The script can be configured to prompt for destination email address, even originating email address (dangerous, generally not recommended), subject, message body. Keep in mind any relay restrictions that you may have in place and not to setup any open mail proxies. ________________________________ From: Tom Kern [mailto:tpkern@xxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, 24 January 2006 02:56 PM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] blocking recieving mail http://www.MSExchange.org/ Hi.
