Carl, Thank you very much for your feedback, i think as you. So we (our university) may probably think twice *BEFORE* using their solutions :o) Cheers, Yann ________________________________ De : Carl Houseman [mailto:c.houseman@xxxxxxxxx] Envoyé : jeudi 15 décembre 2005 15:22 À : [ExchangeList] Objet : [exchangelist] RE: SIS not activated by default http://www.MSExchange.org/ This is ridiculous. If anyone has to confirm something, it should be your consultant. So ask your consultant "How do I activate single instance storage?" Be prepared to wait a long time for an answer. He's going to spend a lot of time researching it, because THERE IS NO ANSWER. You can't activate something that is always activated and can never be de-activated. He works for a entreprise which deals with Exchange Archve Solutions. So he introduces the fact that their Archive Solution has SIS mechanism (??!!). So i told him that exchange already has this functionnality activated; He answered yes *BUT*, in e2k2/e2k3 it is not activated by default. He ensures me that he got this information from MS exchange guys, and from MOCs only available for MS internals. I was very very surprised about it's statement but i'm a bit openminded :o)... so if some MS exchange supports could eventually confirm it, he would be nice :) Thanks all Yann ________________________________ De : Andy David [mailto:adavid@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Envoyé : mercredi 14 décembre 2005 02:00 À : [ExchangeList] Objet : [exchangelist] RE: SIS not activated by default http://www.MSExchange.org/ You don't *activate* SIS. It just exists. Where did you hear otherwise? ________________________________ From: TIROA YANN [mailto:Yann.Tiroa@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, December 13, 2005 6:55 PM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] SIS not activated by default http://www.MSExchange.org/ Hi all, Is SIS (Single Instance Storage) activated by default in e2k/e2k3 ? I've heard that it is not and u have to activate SIS. Is this true ? if yes how to activate SIS ? Thanks for input.
