Recovery server not recognized

Hi list,
I am attempting to setup an Exchange 2000 recovery server and have run
into a snag. I can browse through the network to find the Exchange
recovery server yet when I choose to restore to it I get a message
stating that either the server is not an Exchange server or the services
are not turned on - neither of which are true. I have followed the
directions from the MS PDF entitled "Mailbox recovery for MS Exchange
server" in setting up the new server. I can even query the ports via
telnet successfully. I have not updated any Exchange service packs but I
do have SP4. AD, DNS (actually DDNS) and such are also running on the
recovery machine.
