Actually, this can be done. You can give access to just ONE box, (inbox for example), but giving them reviewer permissions (or whatever you choose.) The trick is HOW they view the inbox. They can't view it by "other users folder." They have to right-click the their own top tree (outlook today) in their email, select properties, select advanced and then add their email box in the appropriate field. (Now, before they do that, you must ALSO give them permission to YOUR top tree (Outlook today) part of your email, for them to be able to view your email box.) After this is done, whatever folder you gave them permission on will be the ONLY folder they can view. -----Original Message----- From: Lorie Gordon [mailto:lgordon@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, December 31, 2002 1:56 PM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: Outlook Q I believe that the only way you can give someone access to your folder structure is by giving them access to your entire mailbox. You can do this through advanced properties - mailbox rights. The user could then configure outlook to open your mailbox when they open outlook. This of course would give them access to your entire mailbox and I don't know if you want that or not. Just an idea. I have several folder beneath my Inbox. I gave XYZ user Reviewer rights to the folder. When they try to view the folder, that folder isn't listed under "Open another user's folder" . I gave permission to make the inbox and subfolders visible. But they can 't seem to navigate the tree. So my question is this: what's the best way for me to setup a user to access a folder under my inbox? ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=exchangelist Exchange Newsletters: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/newsletter.asp Exchange FAQ: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ ------------------------------------------------------ ISA Server Resource Site: http://www.isaserver.org Windows Security Resource Site: http://www.windowsecurity.com/ Windows 2000/NT Fax Solutions: http://www.ntfaxfaq.com ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this MSExchange.org Discussion List as: lgordon@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub') ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=exchangelist Exchange Newsletters: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/newsletter.asp Exchange FAQ: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ ------------------------------------------------------ ISA Server Resource Site: http://www.isaserver.org Windows Security Resource Site: http://www.windowsecurity.com/ Windows 2000/NT Fax Solutions: http://www.ntfaxfaq.com ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this MSExchange.org Discussion List as: JaredsJazz@xxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub')
