Wouldn't that go through port 1080/8080 (ie. The proxy port)?

Most likely the client network does not have SSL (port 443) open for access.
That would be my guess.

Subject: [exchangelist] OWA from behind a proxy

Hi all,

I have an Exch 5.5 + OWA in a DMZ. My users have been reporting that they
cannot get through OWA when they're on someone else's LAN.

Further investigation showed that these users were connecting through a
proxy.

The problem is that after they enter their alias and click the hyperlink,
the authentication box does not pop up, but instead the client's browser
goes blank.

The the proxy (the one the client is connecting through) reports an
'Authentication Failed' error.

What's going on? Any idea how we can solve this?

Thanks and regards
