Front End Exchange server

I am following a Q article on setting up a Front end / Back end exchange
environment. At one point it talks about a button that you select to make
a server a front end exchange server inside system manager. I see no
button there. The help file references this button but it's not in the
dialog box.
Anyone have any ideas.
Right now when I use the IP address for the Front End server for OWA I get
a login and then a second login to my internal exchange server.
Maybe someone has seen this before.
