If you open up Exchange system manager, click on Administrative Groups, First Administrative Group, and then right click on the server you would like to make the front end server, select properties and there should be a check box at the bottom that should say this is a front end server. Check that box. -----Original Message----- From: Michael Lippman [mailto:michael.lippman@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Friday, December 14, 2001 10:01 AM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] Front End Exchange server http://www.MSExchange.org/ I am following a Q article on setting up a Front end / Back end exchange environment. At one point it talks about a button that you select to make a server a front end exchange server inside system manager. I see no button there. The help file references this button but it's not in the dialog box. Anyone have any ideas. Right now when I use the IP address for the Front End server for OWA I get a login and then a second login to my internal exchange server. Maybe someone has seen this before.
