The Jerusalem American International School is expanding!


 The following employment opportunities are available for the 2012-2013
School year.



*Please Note:  Hours are long and hard, as prep requires strict adherence
to curriculum as well as differentiation to meet the needs of students in
multiple grade levels.  Most teachers find that their first year at our
site is significantly harder than most schools they have taught at.*



ALL APPLICANTS MUST HAVE VALID TEACHING CREDENTIAL FROM ISRAEL OR ABROAD
AND MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF TWO YEARS FULL-TIME CLASSROOM EXPERIENCE POST
CREDENTIAL.



Applicants MUST be native English speakers (except for Spanish and French
language positions).

The following positions are open:



*Definite* - Grades 6-12 American English/ Humanities (Language Arts/
Social Studies) Teacher - Full Time.  This teacher must be able to teach
High Levels of High School English (AP English Literature, 11th and
12thgrade English) as well as teach humanities to a diverse group of
middle
school students.  This position requires a lot of preparation in order to
effectively teach the diverse curriculum and differentiate to meet the
differing needs of the students. Applicant must have teaching credential in
Secondary English and a minimum of two years of teaching experience POST
credential.  Applicants with experience teaching high school English in the
American system and Applicants with experience teaching AP English
Literature will be given preference.  *PLEASE NOTE ? AN ELL/ ESL OR TOEFL
CREDENTIAL WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED FOR THIS POSITION.*



*Possible* Lower Elementary Classroom Teacher, full-time, all subjects -
prefer individual with 2+ years experience teaching elementary combination
classes. Applicant must have teaching credential to teach elementary
education and at least 2 years of full-time experience teaching grade 1or 2.



*Definite* ? Spanish Instructor, grades preschool ? 8 (60% position).  Prefer
individual with 2+ years experience teaching Spanish to a variety of ages
and levels. Applicant must have teaching credential to teach elementary or
secondary education.  Individuals who are specifically credentialed to
teach Spanish will be given preference.



*Definite* ? French Instructor, grades preschool ? 8 (60% position).  Prefer
individual with 2+ years experience teaching French to a variety of ages
and levels. Applicant must have teaching credential to teach elementary or
secondary education.  Individuals who are specifically credentialed to
teach French will be given preference.
