I used to love his books when I could still see and read them all then.

Love Mandy X

Shell, at least one of his books is on talking book, "The Cat Who Came In
From The Cold", read by Deric himself. As I said, people either love his
style or hate it, it's gentle and whimsical.

Trish.

Well, I have to confess that I've never heard of him.

I will see what I can find.

Cheers,

Shell.

books and that I read them over and over. He replied, thanking me, as he
said my email had arrived at a time when he was feeling low and lacking
confidence that he could write any more, so he said I had really lifted his
spirits. Later, he sent me a cassette containing short pieces of his work,
all extracts from his books, but a lovely gesture all the same. Elaine is
right, he was a brilliant reader of his own work.

romantic author Aileen Armatage whom I interviewed several times for In
Touch. He was also once part of the Newcastle Literary festival one year
when I happened to be chairing some of the sessions. I didn't think much of
his books but he was a very funny man, a raconteur with a fund of great
stories and anecdotes.

weekend. His books are by no means classics, but he wrote with a quirky
sense of humour about life as he witnessed it, including his cats as
characters and imagining what they would say to him. He also wrote two very
moving books, one about his wife, and the disabling condition that
eventually led to her death, the other about his mother, who had a stroke.
I know readers either love him or loath him, but His books should really
rank among my favourites, as I've read many of them several times over when
I was in need of a good laugh.
