No, you don't have to enter the characters one at a time.

The box style puts down a row of sevens, then a row of letter g's right below it. You are left to supply the characters for the sides of the box.

If you are in a braille screen, you get a line of forty characters. If you are in print mode, you get 65 characters.

If your box is at the top of a page, the page number indicators will shorten the width of the top border of the box. If you are farther down the page, you have the full width of the page to work with.

The box-h1 style puts your cursor in the center and keeps the row of whatever characters you type centered as you go. It goes out to position 35 before starting a new, centered line.

So do you have to do the characters one at a time or is there a way you can make the characters repeat.  I know there’s a box under styles but seems like I remember that when I tried to use it I had a problem; can’t remember as it’s been a long time back.

For the sides of boxes, I use a letter l (1 2 3) for the left side and the underline character (4 5 6) for the right side of the box. It looks strange in a print screen but comes out OK  in braille if you switch Grade Zero (no translate) or are already in a braille screen.

You can also fiddle with the corners by finding a letter or symbol which connects with your top row and bottom row characters for a more seamless effect.
