I charge my customers a one-time setup fee per document to clean it up.  Then, 
I charge a fixed per-page rate for each copy.  If they don't want to pay the 
setup fee, then I emboss the document exactly as is, regardless of what shape 
it's in.

  I've read the thread dealing with less-than-wonderful original word 
processing files with interest for I like so many others have spent a lifetime 
in cleaning up bad files so they can be transcribed into braille. 

  For those braille producers who charge for each document, do you charge a 
flat rate for the number of braille pages or do you figure in the processing 
time it took to come up with a good transcription or a little bit of both?
