On my web site sixfriends.org, to go the Table of Contents, choose Book in
Alternative Formats, and then choose Braille. I have quite a long list of
companies.

Subject: [duxuser] buying braille books

Hello all,

First, I need a list of companies or agencies that offer braille books for sale
. Preferrably U.S. and Canada, but anywhere where books are produced and sold
basically at cost or thereabouts. I'm not looking for the major printing houses
like APH.

I've just helped an independent author produce his book in raille, and it was a
real life-changer for me. I felt that it needed to be in braille. We're just
getting to the stage of figuring out what to do with the braille to get it in
the hands of braille readers.

I will be sitting down with him in a few weeks and explaining how the braille
book world works as far as distribution goes. The final say is his, but I need
some ideas of who might accept braille files for distribution.

Also, can individuals donate braille files to the Library of Congress in the
States? I'm guesssing not.

Ideas welcome.

Jean
