I don't have version 10.7 of Duxbury, but assuming this hasn't changed... Have you set your characters per line limit within Duxbury itself? Unfortunately, the size paper you are working with is one I have never gotten to work with Duxbury regardless of setting margins using it or the Basic-D, which I also have. For some reason, for me at least, this embosser only likes the larger braille paper. With it, I have had no trouble embossing. Here is all I know to tell you to try. If it is possible, set the top margin and bottom margin to 1, and set the character per line limit to 32. On the Basic-D itself, try switching to setup B. I believe that one is preformatted to work with smaller paper. -Alyssa -----Original Message----- From: duxuser-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:duxuser-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Jo Taliaferro Sent: Tuesday, March 31, 2009 7:46 PM To: duxuser@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [duxuser] I'm tearing my hair out!! I am so frustrated I can hardly think straight! I hope someone can assist me! I am using Duxbury version 10.7 with a Basic D braille embosser. I don't have expertise in the use of Duxbury but have read through the help files so that I know about formatting a Word document (Office 2003) and I have translated it so it's a braille document. When I try to emboss the braille document, there is no hyphenation and the margins are such that the braille is too close to top and bottom as well as right and left edges of the 8-1/2" x 11 inch tractor feed paper. I am not sure if this is a printer issue or a Duxbury issue. The embosser is new as is the software. Should I be using the BANA literary braille selection or not? I get no support or help from anyone when the printer freezes which it does often. The Basic D embosser is a version III embosser and I indicate that when I do the global embosser configuration. My ink print documents are set to the MS Office default margins, as recommended. I know I ask a lot here but I chair a committee where braille documents are required. I use braille on a daily basis and know enough to say definitely that the document DOES translate into braille. If anybody out there can help me with the Basic D braille embosser or suggest why it might be freezing, I would be very grateful. I've struggled on my own and I have the latest printer drivers and utilities from the http://www.indexbraille.com website. Whatever you can do to help, even if it doesn't work would be absolutely fantastic!
